About IFASD 2019

The International Forum on Aeroelasticity and Structural Dynamics (IFASD) is the most important event for engineers and researchers working in the fields of aeroelasticity and structural dynamics, since the first event of 1981. Following the success of the IFASD 2017 held in Como, Italy, the 2019 forum will be held in Savannah, Georgia, USA.

IFASD 2019 is intended to give a comprehensive snapshot of the current status of research activities and industrial practice in the fields of Aerospace Vehicle Aeroelasticity and Structural Dynamics, Multidisciplinary Analysis and Optimization, and Active and Adaptive Structures. It will provide an excellent opportunity for scientists and engineers from industry, research centers and universities to exchange knowledge and findings of current studies, and to discuss directions for future research. Contributions are sought covering all technical areas relating to aeroelasticity and structural dynamics.

The Organizing Committee invites authors to submit abstracts of original works for presentation at the conference on the areas outlined in the following Forum topics:

  • Steady/Unsteady Aerodynamics
  • Computational Aeroelasticity
  • Aeroelasticity in Conceptual Aircraft Design
  • Aeroservoelasticity
  • Active Control and Adaptive Structures
  • Dynamic Loads
  • Highly Flexible Aircraft Structures
  • Experimental Methods in Structural Dynamics and Aeroelasticity
  • Reduced Order Modeling
  • Wind Tunnel and Flight Testing
  • Ground Vibration Testing of Aircraft
  • Rotorcraft Aeroelasticity
  • Environmental dynamics and aeroelasticity
